Yá’át’ééh! Hello! For me, home is the breathtakingly beautiful capital of the Navajo Nation – Window Rock, Arizona. From there, I made the tough decision of going to Maine (yes, Arizona to Maine!) for my undergrad. In 2017, I received my B.A. in Mathematics & Education and learned that I’m awful with numbers but I love education. So shortly after graduating, I relocated to Mesa, Arizona, and attended Arizona State University where I received my M.Ed in Higher and Postsecondary Education. So, from being a Polar Bear and a Sun Devil, I am now in sunny Southern California working in higher education at USC as a proud Trojan!
The students, the Trojan Family, and the location! USC brings in students from all over the United States and the world, which means you can find the Trojan Family in all the same places. Our Trojan students and family come from widely different backgrounds but they all come together to share the Fight On! pride and the love of our Southern California beauty.
Visit the university you are interested in attending. Being on campus can really solidify your gut feeling of, “could this be my home-away-from-home?” As one of those students who couldn’t physically attend many campus visits, I also advise you to take the virtual tours. Try to find all the resources you can to really understand the student experience of the institution.
