University of California, Los Angeles

Bio

I moved to Los Angeles six years ago from Tracy, a small town in Northern California — and pursuing higher education here has been one of the best decisions of my life. I’ve loved every moment of being part of this vibrant city! Through advising, tutoring and mentoring students across L.A., I’ve discovered a deep passion for helping others reach their educational goals — and I believe everybody is capable of them. I’m also fascinated by people’s stories and cultures, so when I’m not at USC, you’ll find me exploring museums, catching concerts and comedy shows, trying new restaurants, or browsing local shops.

Admission Advice

When writing your personal statement, focus on sharing your authentic self and educational journey. Remember, we can evaluate only what you choose to share. It’s helpful to make sure your essay centers on you: Use “I” statements and reflect on how your experiences have shaped you. While the stories of influential people in your life may be powerful, be sure to connect them back to your own growth and perspective. This is your moment to shine!
