Campus walking tours give prospective students and their families a look into the life of USC students, including academics, campus resources, residential life, athletics and much more. Tours are led by current undergraduate students who share their stories while presenting an overview of the university.

Each campus tour is preceded by an optional, half-hour presentation from one of our admission counselors, covering undergraduate admission and financial aid at USC. This program is ideal for prospective students with parties no larger than five (5) total guests. Parties with more than seven (7) total guests should request a group tour described below.

Transfer applicants who wish to listen to an admission presentation are encouraged to sign up for our weekly Transfer Information Sessions.

Tours are not offered on Saturdays and Sundays. If you would like to visit campus on these days, please call (213) 740-6605 to have a self-guided tour map mailed to you, or download the Self-Guided Tour.

Housing Tour Information

Please note that we are unable to offer visits to our housing facilities during these tours. To maintain our students’ safety and security, access to residence halls is electronically monitored and restricted to current residents and their registered guests. While we understand this may be disappointing – we know residence hall life is an important part of the undergraduate experience – we hope you will respect our students’ privacy and safety. We believe families appreciate knowing this same protection would be extended to their own students. For more information, and to explore our housing options, please visit the USC Housing website.

Tours cover USC academics, student life, athletics, history and more. Optional presentations may be offered based on availability of classrooms and presenters.

Policies and Exceptions:

Tours are not typically offered on Saturdays and Sundays. If you would like to visit campus on these days, please call (213) 740-6605 to have a self-guided tour map mailed to you, or you may download the Self-Guided Tour.

While priority reservations are given to students in ninth grade and above, we can be flexible in making elementary and middle school group reservations during the months of January, May and December. To learn more about alternative visit programs for younger students, please contact us at (213) 740-6605.

Group Tour Policies:

We can accommodate a maximum of 70 guests per group. For every 35 people on a tour, we must allocate one tour guide. Therefore, groups larger than 35 will be split into smaller groups. Group Tours are provided in the English language. Please let us know if a specific language is preferred, and we will do our best to match an available tour guide with your group. Otherwise, please provide a translator throughout your visit.

All group tours will be reduced throughout February, March and April to accommodate other campus visit programs.

Dining on Campus:

Groups are welcome to bring their own lunches or purchase food from one of our on-campus eateries.

Passenger Unloading and Bus Parking:

Details and a campus map will be provided via a confirmation email once your reservation is confirmed.

USC does not allow buses to park on campus. Buses must enter through the Downey Way Entrance/formerly Gate 6 (located at Vermont Avenue and 36th Place), proceed down 36th Place/Downey Way until you reach Watt Way. Make a right on Watt Way and unload your bus in front of Vivian Hall (VHE) on the southwest corner of the intersection.

After passengers have exited the bus, the bus driver should travel south on Watt Way and exit campus through the Watt Way Entrance/formerly Entrance 1. Make a left onto Exposition Blvd and finally a right on Figueroa Street to reach bus parking at Exposition Park (enter at Figueroa Street and 39th Street). Parking costs $30 per day, or $12 per day if your group is also visiting the California Science Center.
